I was born in the city
Went out on my own
Climbed the highest mountain that I know (oh)

Hunted for some elk, fixed up my own tent (oh oh)

I went down to the valley
And I saw a gun
Clutched so tightly by the hunter pointing at his mouth (oh)
I ran as fast as I could but when I looked to where he stood he was gone
I saw him fall

But now he's closer, close tu nature

I went back to the city where I wasn't know
Walked the streets all night feeling so alone (oh)
Buildings like chandeliers iluminating my fears (oh oh)

But I'm still closer, close to nature
